What I would like to know is:
if the system has a leak somewhere, wouldn't there be no boost produced at all? Meaning, the boost produced would leak out of the weakened/open spot, and the gauge would stay at or below base boost.
If I am able to see the gauge get into the red (full), then quickly drop back out to mid-yellow (base), or in some rare (but enjoyable) instances have the boost stay in the red like it's supposed to, this would lead me to believe it is not a leak but an ECU-to-BPC condition. The question is, what is the ECU finding/picking up on that is causing it to send a signal to the BPC to open the wastegate?
I have no issues with misfire or hesitation and my NGK plugs are fairly new (1K miles on them) and gapped correctly and I use di-electric grease (assume DI is okay then).
I have disconnected the BPC and the turbo boosted well into the red (assume the turbo is okay then).
I have tried a donor BPC and the results were the same (assume my BPC is okay then).
Have not found any vacuum-hose leaks, and my BPV is working correctly.
IF I had restricted fuel flow (due to a faulty new filter), wouldn't this restriction be present across the full throttle range? The car runs smooth and fine during normal cruising, and when it tries to reach full-boost (assume the fuel flow/filter is okay(?)).
This all leads me to believe the 2nd new O2 sensor might also be faulty. I'm sure this has happened before to other people, where they have installed faulty new products 2 or 3 times in a row.
Can the O2 sensor circuit system be diagnosed (in the event it is my system circuit)? Not just the sensor itself, but the whole circuit (from sensor to ECU)? I may have to take the car back to my indie for some research, if so.
