Why not just fill it to what the dipstick says is full (or up to the X or whatever), drive a chunk of your journey, stop for a coffee and check to see how much oil the car has used? I appreciate you're new to this particular vehicle but unless it's trailing blue smoke and dribbling down its chin you should be pretty safe, no? None of my 9000s have really used any oil unless it's through a leak, so I hope yours is the same.
