Well, I had second thoughts about replacing my voltage regulator. A new alternator was 187 bucks, plus core charge. the voltage regulator was 25 dollars. I took a chance and brought it to the chevy dealership near me. very close, they replaced it in a day, (the voltage regulator), i didn't need the alternator, they charged me two hundred for labor. but it works fine and I am all the better for it without the frustration.
Good Luck
