If you disconnect the battery you will need the radio code. I will ask a friend of mine who owns an independent shop how he solves this problem.
The reason I mentioned the AC was that the clutch on the compressor is a heavy but intermittent electrical load. I have chased electrical gremlins in cars and aircraft for many years. Many of the problems go away when the grounds are cleaned. I clean the grounds that I mentioned in my prior post every time the battery is out of the car. Also, every time that I am working on my car and I gain access to a ground I clean it.
