Look on the http://www. for replacement air shocks. I don't know if anybody sells them, but back when I would work on many air-cooled VW, I would install air-shocks to re-level the rear of the car. This was faster and cheaper to do than reset the torsion arms. Plus, this gives you many optional loading and riding settings. I remember that the max. pressure could be set to 150-psi. I bet the same air shocks for a 71-VW beetle would work as they have the same bolts and lenght?????
