The ABS brain won't always know it has a bad sensor until it is in motion, when it knows it has wacky speed data from one or more sensors relative to the others.
If you're operating on a hunch you could always throw a new sensor in there and see if the light goes out; however I always recommend springing for an ISAT scan if you can, because that's the only way to know for sure what's bothering your ABS, and which sensor in fact is responsible (if it's a sensor issue at all).
