I wouldn't try to do a quicky recharge myself. Too many things could go wrong, and you can still end up with the wrong answer. What if one can isn't enough, and the system doesn't come on because the pressure is too low? You still don't have a diagnosis.
The easiest way would be to jumper the pressure switch wires together. If the compressor kicks on, then you know it is either low pressure or a bad pressure switch (most likely low refrigerant pressure). Don't run the AC for any length of time, because you can damage the compressor - but 5 or 10 seconds won't hurt anything.
The pressure switch pigtails out to a four pin connector. Disconnect the connector, and jumper the wires on the harness side (see wire colors in my post above).
