I'm trying to remove my fuel pump. I took out the floor of the trunk, removed the access cover, electrical connector, and fuel lines. I unscrewed the retaining ring with a homemade PVC tool. Now I am unable to remove the ring because the tank is too close to the floor or because the access hole is slightly too small. Also, I'm concerned that once I have removed the retaining ring there still won't be much room to get the pump out. This is not a hatchback. Is there something I'm missing? Also wondering should I have drained the tank?
Thanks, Dave
