...then sell it if you don't want to keep it, or buy a backup used DIC and keep the car.
Kevin, the DIC is the red unit atop the valve cover, that is (inside it) four coils that fire the spark plugs.
They do go bad and maybe that's your problem; someone seems to think so.
If you want to gamble it, you can pick them up used, either from site sponsors or a nearby junkyard. Some of the NG900s I think it is use a similar DIC that is black but is said to work in 9000s, likely more available and cheaper but not recommended by all.
I have paid $20 for used ones at a you-pull-it junkyard; new they are hundreds of dollars.
To change it out there are four Torx M6 bolts holding it to the valve cover, and a multiplug at driver's side end of it. To free that multiplug push on the bottom where the red plastic comes thru the black, till ribbed red top pops up a bit, then tug up on the ribbed part while pulling out on the connector.
If you fix it that way, get a spare to carry in your trunk along with the tools to change one, so you can drive with more peace of mind in future.
Year of car, miles, condition, whether 5spd or auto, any other problems, all factor into what it's worth, or whether many or just a few would be interested. There's a good Saab-specific classified on this site, to reach fans.
