You need to pull out the ACC. Very easy, just use a thin bladed knife around the edge to get it loose and it pulls out. Just let it hang by the wiring. It won't be damaged.
The sensor fan is to the left. You can reach in with your hand and grasp the back of it. Pop the front cover grill off it --it just pries loose. Be gentle. I usually pull the blank "button" to the right, too. At the sides or the top and bottom of the fan are flat little tabs. You need to pry them inwards slightly and gently while pulling gently on the back side of the fan unit. The fan unit will come out. Disconnect the wires--they just unplug.
The fan will be covered with all kinds of dust, lint, and general grunge. Use alcohol and q-tips to clean it off. Get as much of the crud out as you can. You might want to put in a little squirt of silicone on the shaft, too, but this doesn't always help with squeaky noises.
Once it's clean, plug it back in (it only connects one way), put it back in the dash, and put the ACC back in. I just did this on my daughter's car last weekend. Sure made it quieter!
Getting this cleaned up may help with your temperature issues. And do the calibration check on the ACC, too. The check doesn't always tell everything, so there may be more going on.
If you still have problems, come on back for more info!
