CV will be (mostly) constant clickclickclickclickclick when you are in a turn. to test go to an empty lock, gently drive in circle with steering wheel all of the way left, then to right. helps to have windows down, or an assistant outside of car listening as well. Do not run over your assistant. Diagnoses is easier with two people alive vs one squarshd.
if no clickclickclickclick then look to another source. for me I had loose sub frame nuts and bolts so tighten all that stuff up, theres lots to check.
also ball joints, strut bearing mounts, PS rack, on and on. first rule out CV joint.
can you get under car with a light and inspect the boots?
if they're not torn boots (you'll see grease splattered everywhere, and torn cv boot rubber if they are blown), then you have another indicator for the 'not the CV joint' option.
if it is CV joint, be sure to compare new axle to the old, specifically the tri-bearing. Some parts store computers show one axle for all 9000's 93-98 which is not correct.
I suggest rebuilding your originals, if they are in fact originals.
many say its so much easier to install a remanufactured axle, however some prefer the knowledge you've the part in the car that belongs there.
