battery is less than a year old, but anything is possible... it's reading 12.4 volts right now (battery only, car off).
i have to investigate more and see if this alternator has an external voltage regulator. it's an inexpensive aftermarket alternator that i salvaged from my 92 9000... my recollection is that it looked different than the original alternator, and i didn't feel the external voltage reg when i was feeling around the other day. i could probably change the regulator if i needed to, i did that once with the original alt and voltage regulator on this car. worked for about a year until the voltages dropped into the low 12s, then i swapped in the aftermarket one i have on there now.
appreciate the thoughts, i'll check into the voltage reg and see if i can locate it.
