I just changed the T-stat in the 97 CSE. It had neen messed up for a while but I dismissed it as an ECU problem as the gas gauge had not been reading right for a long time.....like years. It turned out that the car would not put out any heat. I did some poking around and the hoses were pretty cold even after extended operation. It had a Waxstat that was put in when I did the HG after a major overheat incident. I put the Waxstat in a pan of water and it was not staying closed long enough. On closer inspection, it wasn't ever closed. I put a new Motorads in and it works fine now and I have decent heat. Now onto the rotten flex pipe (again!) and the bad fuel pump in the 97 Aero. Getting tired of fixing Saabs....
