Voltage regulator died after 3 weeks. Alternator? Posted by un4gvn1 [Email] (#2498) [Profile/Gallery] (more from un4gvn1) on Sat, 6 Apr 2019 10:57:05 Members do not see ads below this line. - Help Keep This Site Online - Signup |
Because I didn't know any better, I bought a Hella voltage regulator off of Amazon. Worked great, charging system came back to life, battery icon on dash went away and my stereo started working (I can't explain this last item.. magic?).
Today I replaced the cooling fan thermo switch, let the rig idle long enough to determine the fan is now working. All good so far.
Until... I got in to put the car back in it's normal parking place. Noticed the voltage readout was something like 11.7 and the battery warning light is back on. A little checking, sure enough, not charging.
So, should I order a Bosch regulator, or just bite the bullet & do the alternator?
