I don't think it is the fan. The old fan did the same thing to the relay box and the new OEM fan his only 10K on it.
Got into the relay box today. Many melted wires. Looks like both the high and low speed wires melted and closed the circuit so the fan ran for long periods of time without breaking the fuse. So I guess, I need to rewire the relay and fuse block but no one has part number 4111480 and no local junk yard has a 9000 or 900 that I can cut the relay block out of it. I did look at the battery cable going to the alternator. No corrosion that I can see but it would not matter since a new cable is no longer available. I may have to rewire the entire fan system to keep the engine cool but I haven't a clue as to how to do that.
