Engine overheated, need Suggestions Posted by Savary [Email] (#1273) [Profile/Gallery] (more from Savary) on Fri, 8 Dec 2000 11:18:11 Members do not see ads below this line. - Help Keep This Site Online - Signup |
My engine overheated, coolant in all 4 cylinders. I don't know where the coolant leak is that resulted in the engine overheating. The ignition cassette melted where it snaps over the spark plugs, however the engine is not seized. My mechanic says it would be best to put a used engine in instead of having him rebuild the existing engine, or sell it as it sits now. Used engine installed will be about $2500. Here are the details of the car: 1993 9000 CDE, 2.3 turbo, 123,000 miles, excellent condition except for the engine of course. I could rebuild it myself but don't really want to invest the time. How much could I get out of my old engine if I put a used one in? Anybody interested in buying the car. Suggestions please. Thank you.
