In the first paragraph, I'm simply saying that you can get another of the flat head Torx40 bolts to put in place of the pin. However, I think you were addressing a problem other than what I was. :) When I had a couple of my wheels with none of those little flat head torx bolts, now THAT was tough to mount the wheels to! Not only do you have to line up the holes in the wheel with those in brake rotor, but simultaneously align the holes in the rotor with the holes in the hub! Not an easy task, especially when using spacers! :) Thus I can understand anyone's desire to use studs instead, as all the above would automatically be lined up more or less..
I find it very odd that your cover does not clear the Saab bolt heads. Must be concave or something, as surely the bolt head cannot protrude much farther than the outmost part of the centerbore of the wheel.. (on my Panther wheels, the bolt head is much shorter than the center of the wheel, about 1/2 as high)
Anyhow good luck! I know it can be tough finding longer bolts, Discount Tire told me they couldn't find longer locking studs for my car, and getting longer regular bolts took a couple weeks.. I would think longer non-locking studs could be found more easily..
