CIS Pressure Guages and Service Training manual Posted by Gary Stottler [Email] (#1463) [Profile/Gallery] (more from Gary Stottler) on Wed, 10 Nov 2010 06:06:23 In Reply to: Re: CIS service manual (Excellent resource!), 900 Aero [Profile/Gallery] , Tue, 9 Nov 2010 16:55:10 Members do not see ads below this line. - Help Keep This Site Online - Signup |
Hi,
To adequately test the CIS, you need the inline guage and valve set up (the factory service tool) and the service manual for your car that lists the specs for line pressure and control pressure vs. temperature. Do you have the '84 Saab Service manual? I think you said you have the Bentley manual, does that have the curve of control pressure vs. temperature?
I have a set of the gauges I can lend you, send me a note off-post through Saabnet.
I also have the Saab "Parts and Service Training" Manual for CIS Lambda Fuel Injection written by John Moss. It has very good troubleshooting tips for all the electrical bits (by '84 the system was starting to have a lot of added-on relays and switches to cope with tightening emission standards). However, it does assume that you have the correct service manual to sort out the basic mechanical system as above and that you have a decent understanding of how CIS works (which you can get from the link posted yesterday)
Let me know if that would help.
Good Luck!
Gary
