Bad Cly head 78EMS...

So, I took the head off my 78EMS because the temp gauge is up and down at times, and the coolant overflow was always bubbling and gurgling air from the radiator side hose.
That, and i had low compression on #4.
Yes!? the head gasket had failed. Coolant seeped on #1 for sure and looks to me like a little on #2 and #3, as well as appearing to have leaked compression between #2 and #3. #4 looked real blown out on the oil passageway on the front there, and #4 plug was oily.
Here's where it gets bad..had the head tested, and all is good, no cracks, except #3 exhaust won't hold pressure. It has a small leak that the re builder dude said appears to be perforations in the head itself from corrosion. He said it's not worth rebuilding this head.
He's a SAAB guys and i trust his analysis.
I have heard about this on the forum here,
is there anything i can do to save this head?
I have a spare motor from a 78GL, and i can take that head in to see if that one is good....i believe it's identical right?
any help, suggestions appreciated, as usual!
cheers
