I'll have to dig out the TSB to be sure, but as I recall, the whole centering thing wasn't even thought of until about 1976/77, even though they had been selling alloys before then.
In fairly quick succession (2-3 model years), Saab went from:
1) a washer that went under the outer CV nut (which there may have even been two sizes of...) which contacted the part of the bore under the wheel's center cap, many mm out from the hub surface
to:
2) the lasting system of a lip on the hub, with a matching machined bore on the wheel at the hub mating surface.
Early EMS Soccerball wheels needed that bore machined in so they could fit on 1980- hubs.
Let me try and dig up the TSB tonight and scan it.
