Not an oversight, The lower chain wheel bearing is a relatively flat needle bearing can only be replaced with major trans dis assembly ie..Power plant out, and then trans main front case half removed, 4th gear/bearing/bearing retainer removed as an assembly. Then the snap ring retainer and a long drift will remove this bearing tapping from the back to the front. 8-10 hours and then you are fully accessed to rebuild or certainly go through the whole gearbox. The incidence rate of failure on this needle bearing is nil. I have yet to see this bearing fail.
