I installed the A/C in my 99 about 10 years ago. I collected all the stuff out of junkyards, got custom hoses made, used a trinary switch to run the fan - changed all the connections to threaded, and it works great. It's hokey though, because by design it is under the dash, and the car has a second set of vents and a second blower motor. Sometimes old is just, well, enough said.
But if I could do it again - I would use vintage air and gut the whole heater box and that silly heater valve, thereby using servo valves and the existing ducting and vents. Those old in-dash vents would blow cold air. Under the hood, I would keep the same config - maybe use the Sanden compressor instead - they make an adapter for York to Sanden mounting. Now that would be trick.
That's why we do it - the dreaming.
