My vote for "best car SAAB ever made" goes to the 2-stroke 96. It's the only model which was _truly_ ahead of its time when it comes to driveability and handling. And may I add, agreed the 2-stroke does not have a lot of pickup from those 40-some-hp; but if everything is right (springs, shocks) it should corner like your 900 Turbo or better. Especially on gravel, I'd much rather be driving a 2-stroke. The 99s and the 900s start to kind of "float" above the gravel at a certain speed making them very difficult to drive, whereas the 2-strokes stay glued to the road. Only yesterday, I was out on a stretch of gravel where I could never go faster than 45MOH or so with my old 99, it would lose all grip at that point - but in the '62 I was doing 55 heading for 60 and I didn't even think it was getting exciting yet :-)
Oh yeah, and may I add: The V4s come nowhere near a 2-stroke, handling-wise. That heavy Ford engine, placed in front of the front axle, throws the car completely out of balance and it becomes WAY too nose-heavy.
