Sounds like either you've got a bit of air in the hydraulic line or a thick clutch disk. I'd start by bleeding the system again just be sure your getting all the travel you deserve out of the slave. If after that you still grind going into reverse then you might try the longer bolt idea but be careful. Too much throw and the fork will start banging into the clutch plate. You'll know when that happens because it make a lovely slapping noise when you press the clutch.
A third solution might be to put a body shim behind the slave cylinder moving it forward just a bit. Not the most elegant solution but works for a while until the new disk settles in.
