Do not crank without priming, ancient bad advice. Use a Craftsman 1/4 drive deep 1/4 socket, fits perfect and has a shoulder so will not slip down into the block.
valve covers off and spin pump till you see oil flowing from tbetween the rockers. now ypu know the entire engine has been filled.
There is a bleed screw on the back side of the Heater Blower assy, fill the motor w water initially, fire up vary the engine speed and monitor upper hose, when it gets warm the termostat has opened, now look for water and bubbles, let the screw be open till you get water without bubbles.
Top up, run till temps stabilise, then shut down, fix any leaks, change to mixed coolant, change oil and filter. Have fun.
