Electric Fuel pump install

I bought an electric fuel pump from Chip at West of Sweden (airtex) I was going to install soon, and wanted to get some questions answered:
Some seem to have installed in the engine compartment, and some under the back seat closer to the tank. Which is the better location to install? I was considering under the back seat, on the floor, and in line with the existing fuel line, mounting the pump to a brace or angle piece that I would mount to the wooden rear seat support. Is this OK? My thinking is to not have to drill a hole in the floor, hold the pump steady, but still keep the pump in line as much as possible with the existing fuel line, while setting the pump lower than the tank.
Can the pump sit horizontally in-line with the fuel line, or do I need to angle the pump with the oulet higher than the inlet or visa versa?
I hope this question doesn't sound too stupid: Is there a proper way to cut the fuel line without crimping it (for the install to add in the pump)?
Some have run the wire to the fuse box, and some to a wire on the ignition terminal, I'm assuming under the dash. Which is better, and if its the ignition, which wire, color/number? I was going to use the same ground as the one the tank sender unit uses. Is this OK.?
I also have the inline 10amp fuse.
Just want to make sure I do this exactly right and make use of all the boards expertise.
Thanks as always,
Randy
