i know i'm late for this thread, but i thought i'd post my experiences anyway. 96 900s - bought it at 43k in 2000. for the first few years, i would feel a bit of roughness in the clutch, and could occasionally hear some clicks. i told the shop about it (the local saab dealer), so they lubricated a bunch of crap in the pedal assembly. no change to the feel of the clutch, but i figured the dealer knew what he was doing. so i was heading back from lunch one day (fortunately in the right lane of busy but slow street) and the clutch cable breaks. replaced - but then a few months later (maybe more like 8 months) i started noticing the same behavior. i had started taking it to another shop and i asked the guy to check it. sure enough, he said that it was wearing and he replaced it. that was 6 months ago. i just recently started feeling occasional clicking again.
SO...from these posts i guess i really have no options? just keep replacing it and hope that it never strikes in a dangerous spot? lame.
