Son of a ...!!!! check engine light

my car is a '00se and I *just* had it in for service on Wed and got it back thursday - now two days later, the check engine light has come on.
I am growing tired of this, every time I go to the service place, regardless of which one I choose, I am polite to the people and don't complain, and still they f&^k up my car and I have to bring it back multipe times and even switch service.
I looked in the manual and I see that the check engine light means a problem with either the ignition or the feul injection system.
I was sitting in a parking lot (parking garage), waiting for my girlfriend to get out of the central square star market. the light wasn't on. I had the rear hatch open and we were putting groceries in. I then shut the hatch, got in, put in in drive (auto obviously) and oops, the light comes on.
on the drive home I tried to drive slower, but that doesn't always work out the way you plan in Boston/Cambridge traffic - but nonetheless I didn't see any real performance issues with the car.
there was no warning on the SID and the temp guage didn't budge.
anyway, any advice? the manual says to call the service shop right away, but it is the weekend and they aren't open until monday morning.
this is so incredibly annoying. I LOVE driving my car, but it is getting ridiculous all of the stupid little failures on the thing that add up over the weeks.
ugh.
