As Schu says, the old model 9-3 has practically nothing in common with the new 9-3SS. The chassis, for example, is something like 50-70% more rigid, with immensely improved energy absorption and collision protection. So no offense, but why should Saab be so interested in your specific case? There have probably been hundreds of other real life crashes which Saab have studied, as well as many different crash tests. And no, there aren't any standard passenger cars that are as crashworthy (according to real life data, not just one off crashtests)
As for the ejection of components into the cabine, I simply don't agree that it is such an important issue. The heater controls are not exactly heavy and dangerous objects. If you want all components to be secured against that kind of acceleration, what about loose CD's etc? Come on now, be reasonable.
