Markus/Nickshu...
Sounds like you folks have been farther down this path than I.
Our 1996 900S non-turbo threw a CEL many months ago. The local shop read the code and diagnosed it as a failed SAI pump. While waiting to figure out how to avoid the expense of a pump R/R, I had the shop reset the CEL, but of course it reappeared later - so I studied the postings on this Board and did the relay/fuse pull tricks a few times. Lately, the relay and/or fuse pull cycle does not remove the CEL - and my latest code read at Autozone gives the all-too-familiar 411 code (lack of SAI downstream injection air flow).
So it seems that the fuse/relay tricks do not make for a permanent work-around in the 1996 models...*right?* I'm figuring that I'll need to look for a used SAI pump ...pulled from a junk yard or from a parts car...Agreed?
One thing I agree with (from other postings) was that the SAI design was a bad idea and noisy to boot.
Thank much for any advice.
