Sludge - What does Saab require to cover?

At 62,000 miles, my 2000 9-3 Convertible has just been diagnosed by a Saab mechanic as having a sludge problem. He called over to the dealership and was told that my model would be covered for repairs - provided I had records of my oil changes.
I've changed my oil every 4,000 miles - twice letting it go to about 5,500 miles. I am missing one receipt, which will put a gap of 11,000 miles between changes, unless I can track it down. The Saab Owners manual recommends changes every 10,000 miles. The letter that Saab sent to clients regarding the sludge says something to the effect of customers needing remain within 2,000 miles of the recommended maintenance schedule, but they do not state what that schedule is in this letter. Are they citing the 10,000 schedule that is referenced in the owners manual? This is very unclear.
If I cannot find this receipt and records reflect that I went 11k without a change, am I screwed? If I am able to produce the receipt, will my 4,000-5,500 between oil changes be sufficient for Saab to accept responsibility for repair?
