SaabUSA has legal staff. A legal letter will not sway them. They are within their rights to deny your claim if you missed an oil change or do not have the documentation. BTW - it's a customer service campaign (ironic) and not a binding warranty.
Remember that every warranty claim they pay goes against their product reliability numbers, so they have a double incentive NOT to pay.
FWIW - the previous owner of my 9-5 missed an oil change. I bought the sludged car and SaabUSA did not cover the repair expenses, despite every other oil change at 5K. All I got was a "$1000-off if I buy a new Saab" coupon for my troubles (1 year expiry, non-transferable).
Luckily, the Saab reseller who I bought the car from came through to split the costs.
Best of luck - JMJ
