Viggen Falling Apart - Disgusted by GM "quality"

Hi all,
I've been a Saab owner and lover for many years. I've had many Saabs and have almost always held them for many years (5+) and many miles (150,000+). I bought a Viggen brand new in 2000 and loved the car for the first few years. It's now 8 years old and has 125,000 miles on it. I've taken really good care of it and haven't even driven it in the winter for the past few years. Now, it's starting to just feel like it's falling apart.
I've had no AC for nearly a year now because the evaporator has rotted out. According to my mechanic, the part was defective from the go - I guess water collects and causes rot. He says he's replaced dozens of them and that Saab/GM knows its defective and has consequently jacked the price on the replacement part from $500 to $1,400. They claim it's because of material costs, but come on.
I've also just found out that I have a blow turbo! This kills me. Every one of my 10+ Saabs have been turbos. Many have had over 200,0000 miles on their original turbo, and none have ever needed a turbo. My mechanic wants $1300 for the new turbo installed, which is less than I was expecting, but I still can't believe that I need one with only 125,000 miles on a car that has been babied.
These are just the major things, but there's a long list of little things that just shouldn't be falling apart on this car. (For example the leather shift knob is completely falling apart and needs replacement, the clutch went at 70,0000 miles when I usually get 150,000, SID display shot three times, etc.)
Anyone have the same experiences? I guess I'm just venting really and not looking for answers, but I find this really frustrating and can't help but blame GM. I don't think I'm going to sell the car because I still really like driving it, but it's going to cost me $4,000+ this year to keep it running, and that just seems ridiculous!
