I'm glad you understood. It is so much to this check engine light that we are all baffled many times and it is still no magic box that "can't you hook it up to the machine that tells you what's wrong" that they have talked about since the late 70s.
You see if the cause of light would have been large EVAP leak code P-0455 which usually happens if the gas cap is crooked or a sticking EVAP purge valve, the light shouldn't have come on while driving at high turbo boost since the fuel computer is not checking that function while driving.
Only when the car is standing still idling after short drive of a few minutes does it run it's EVAP integrity test and it needs to do that a few times before the light is turned on and only one time per start up of engine (two at cold start up).
Also, if it is the gas cap, it will not turn off the light right away after correction but it takes at least one EVAP integrity test which would happen a few minutes after start up and when you are standing still again for a certain amount of seconds.
It's more criteria to the EVAP story but too many to list.
Also since Autozone mentioned idle control valve code, I think I have read that when it has been throttle potentiometer codes with a real scan tool. Since throttle codes are proprietary Saab codes, a generic scan tool don't know what to do and just slap an idle valve explanation to it.
