So what answer are you looking for that was not given in your last post?
Do you want any of us Joe Blow internet posters to stand up against Saab and say YES, you can use a repainted black IDM in your 96 900 WITHOUT any problems whatsoever.
Or do you want us to be cautious and give you both sides and say that it might work or it might not. Saab says it is not a good idea but other here have posted that they have used a black IDM without any problems.
Do you feel lucky?
The sticker on that IDM have both the version number, serial number and part number of a black IDM so either someone have peeled off the sticker from a black IDM and put it on a red or someone have repainted a black IDM to red.
Does it look like the sticker has been peeled off or masked for a paint job?
The TK, I believe, stand for Tänd Kassett (Swedish for ignition cassette).
The numbers right after is just the different versions used for different engines and fuel injection systems.
So far I know about the red 1.1 for the early 90-92 9000 which later became 3.2 and is now 3.2C and used in all LH/DI, Trionic and T5 cars.
Then you have the black 3.4, 3.4D (the bad ones that died with a poof) which in 03 became 3.6 and is now 3.7 used in the 4 cyl T7 injections.
And then you have the Silver 4.4 and 4.6 for the 9-5 V6 engine with T7 injection.
The letter after is just running version changes that happens where after they find some new low cost Chinese parts to use inside.
Then you have the manufacturing year and week and after that, the serial number and below is the part number.
