Viggen wheel alignment -- not done when changed tires Posted by bender [Email] (#268) [Profile/Gallery] (more from bender) on Mon, 4 Jul 2016 09:13:30 Members do not see ads below this line. - Help Keep This Site Online - Signup |
I went to get my tires replaced (don't get me started on how hard it is to find a tire shop that doesn't somehow scratch your wheel or leaves an impression on them. Third time will be right).
When I went back to the Saab shop, they looked at the tires that I replaced and told me I don't need an alignment. It's because the tires only had about 10k miles on them and were replaced due to age. But now, I still feel that I want the alignment and I don't think because the car is in such great shape that this should be passed on. I drove the car 5 hours to come to the shop and it's still here for the month.
Is this a process to do on the Viggen? What's involved? I remember reading that Viggens are harder to do the alignment on.
Lastly, I didn't like how they checked the torque on the bolts while the car was on the ground. Some were loose and some not (but may have been over tightened). I firmly believe that this should be done while the car is off the ground.
Thoughts appreciated on getting the alignment done. Car has 44k miles.
