The correct size socket is 13MM... A 1/2 inch socket will also fit (usually tighter which is good). Use a 6 sided socket ONLY and be sure it's fully engaged and square on the drain plug (once you start stripping it then you're in for trouble). If the drain plug is at all rounded off after you remove it then replace it! It only costs a couple bucks and it's not worth the possible trouble in the future.
Oh, and buy or borrow a torque wrench and set it for 20 lbs. Torque the drain plug to exactly that. No more, no less. Then it will come off much easier in the future (and it won't leak either).
Finally, you can sometimes reuse the copper washer but why screw around... The replacements are available at the dealer for less than a buck.
