I vote clay as well...also helps remove residue from hard water marks etc. Doesnt really take much effort but think it makes a noticeable difference when your done waxing...Id do only the painted surfaces and glass inlcluding bumper skirts...dont think I'd clay rubber trim. Also I think the detailing spray or lubricant makes a difference...I like the Meguires detailing mist say versus Mothers...Mothers feels a bit to waxy/filmy for me.
