I bought my car at Continental back in 99 -- I've had a long relationship (well, longish, 3 cars in row) with them and they treat you right...
Mike was around when I bought my last Saab, but he's been great on this board and personally helped me out recently when I was looking for a body shop. So I owe him one on that and even though I haven't met him in person, he's a good egg. Don't think you'll go wrong dealing with either one on the sales end.
I've not tried any of the independents for service -- I'm going to Continental for some service next week -- they've always been good.
Where you are in SD is probably important -- Oceanside doesn't seem that far, but when you've got to drop the car off in the morning for service, the ride up there can be brutal... I usually plan on leaving my house at 7 and getting back (I work from home) after 10.
