I recently inherited a 2001 Chevy Tahoe. My father bought it not because he "wanted to impress the neighbors" but for towing a car trailer (and the General stopped making full sized wagons with LT1's in them) Without this Tahoe I couldnt have towed my new to me 83T home from CT to Albany this summer. The reasons that people here are citing in their anti-suv rants are just basically wrong. The brakes on the Tahoe are exponentially better than those on my 83T, 87S and are at least as good as my housemate's 94 9K Aero. The driving dynamics are not as "fun" as my 83, but it handles as quietly, predictably and smoothly as my friend's 96 740i. The corners are well defined, the visibility is excellent. The paint, trim, and assembly quality is excellent - easily as good as my other housemate's 2001 Aero. If I drive it gently I can get around 21 on the highway, 17 in the city (not great, but not 13 mpg.) Although I love my 900's, I have to admit that the Tahoe is an excellent vehicle - if you're going to bash a class of vehicles because you have a subjective dislike of them, fine, but dont distort facts and insult the drivers with unfounded BS.
