...with some shorter ones (as I'm doing in my yard.) The roof begins getting shaded around 4:15 these days as my neighbor to the west has some tall trees!!

I'm trying to replace as many lights as possible with compact flouresents, but the kitchen was built with halogen track lights and there are three other fancy hanging halogen lights over the island - all with 75watt bulbs.

With running the pool filter 10 hours a day, a room air conditioner from spring 'til fall (otherwise our foster child has a tough time with allergies,) three computers for our home businesses, and doing three loads of laundry a day - we have no problem using up all we generate.

I'm sure my array would do better in your area - we're about as far north as you want to be with this type of set-up. October is supposed to be our best month as they panels work better when they're cooler.

Now - how do we get more people to do it?

The NY solar festival, http://www.nysolarfest.org , will take place July 24 & 25, 2004 on Long Island, at the Academy of St. Joseph, in Brentwood, and is dedicated to promoting a holistic, sustainable and renewable way of living. There will be a solar stage with bands playing for two days, vendors and exhibits, educational institutions, children’s activities, and food.
