Being practical as I am. What are the chances of leaks? It must be several points of access right through the shingles without the protection of flashing or overlay.
Do they just put a dab of silicon around each screw and hope that the brackets are not moving around too much allowing seepage?
And during the hot month when the shingles are almost liquid, does the brackets slowly sink into the shingles from the pressure of the screws?
I am toying with the idea of putting water panels up on the garage roof for the pool.
I guess that is a lot more weight though.
