It'll look better in darker colors. However, it's lost most of the Jetta look...high trunklid and fattie C pillars. Looks like a TL with the side trenches bondo-ed in.
Of course, the TL (well, more the TSX) was supposed to rip off the 3, but at least Acura kept the extra-low Japanese nose and small light array. VW took these right back when they cracked open Photoshop.
TL to Mk5 Jetta = about 20 minutes in Photoshop, tops. You don't even have to touch the back half in the front 3/4 or side views.
Sales must be awful if the Jetta isn't its own thing anymore. Of course, I'm old school, I hated the mk3 when it came out and still do. The mk4 grew on me.
