That is awesome. I'd leave it there a little while and then move it back where it was, that would be a sufficient act of defiance. If it ends up the guys a real snapper-head, start hanging laundry outside, seems to be strongly frowned upon these days, horrors.
A guy I knew used to live in a fairly ritzy developement in connecticut, and his nieghbors used to frown upon him for doing his own yard work. Talk about a bunch of snapper-heads. He had a 427 side-oiler fairlane stored in his garage, so he'd fire it up and run it around to properly piss them off. Sweet.
Honesty, like others have said, you can't blame the guy (or more likely his wife) for not asking you directly, that's a confrontation most poeple would avoid. Really, what would you have done?
There's an outside chance he's an MGB fan and it's killing him to see a neglected MGB rotting in the woods.
Getting the MGB back on the road would solve the "problem" too.
