Why so defensive? Posted by AdamB [Email] (#3) [Profile/Gallery] (more from AdamB) on Wed, 2 Nov 2005 07:42:50 In Reply to: Vitality isn't a valid term?, AMG [Profile/Gallery] , Wed, 2 Nov 2005 07:14:16 Members do not see ads below this line. - Help Keep This Site Online - Signup |
Nothing is wrong with feeling vital, unless you start talking about it as if it's a measurable parameter and not look at the physiology behind.
"What is wrong with western medicine? Many things. What is right about it? A much larger number of things."
I agree.
"So why should you feel threatened by schools of medicinal thought which include ideas from alternative/ancient sources?"
I don't. I only responded to claims that aren't backed up by any form of scientific study.
"So how could you dismiss a scientific debate that clearly exists?"
Please show me where I have done so?
"Yes one side is louder, but then again, that side is funded by Pharmco's."
So everyone who uses the huge base of science and clinical trials as a source of knowledge is somehow bribed by the pharmaceutical companies? Isn't that a bit paranoid?
"I really hope you're not a doctor. I would never trust someone who is so smugly sure of themselves that they would lecture others about keeping things "scientifical" (look it up)."
Hmmm, so because I don't agree that we should abandon all types of vaccination because some guy with no credentials claims it on his website, I'm now a very bad person? Did you stop to think what happens when people don't use vaccines because of paranoid hysteria? There are several well documented cases of it causing significant amounts of deaths. Thus my strong response.
Is using personal attacks your definition of keeping things "scientifical"? The reason I used the term is because of the fact that the claims posted so far are not based on actual scientific studies, but rather personal opinions from various websites. Yes, there are trace amounts of various substances in vaccines, but that haven't been translated into any significant number of side effects.
