Anxious to get my car? You bet! Type A? Not hardly, but even we laid-back Seattlites get grumpy when no one returns our calls after a week.

Up until the drop-off in LA, all those involved were very good at tracking the car--I could even go to the shipper's website and see when the ship made its ports of call.

Customs didn't seem to be a big problem. Even given the 11 days between arrival in LA and inspection, it shouldn't be too hard to make the 2-day drive north to Seattle. Obviously, whomever Saab is using to ship its cars isn't particularly efficient at shipping or tracking. If it takes you over a week to find a car and you only have one shipper to deal with, something is very wrong.

So, my main complaint is still with Saab IDS. If they don't know where my car is, they still need to have the courtesy of returning my call and explaining the situation.

And yes, the Hotel Eggers in Gothenberg is a very nice place--but had IDS not dropped the ball there too, we could have arrived much happier and sooner. After two full days of travel with the boys, that scenic drive to Ronnum Manor that ended at 10pm back in Gothenberg was a bad start. Suffice to say, my family declined to repeat that same drive the following morning to pick up the car.

Perhaps if I didn't enjoy the car so much, I wouldn't be so anxious to get back behind the wheel...
