...the 9000 CSE can be made to handle better. My wife drove a '95 CSE for awhile, and its handling improved significantly when I put in polyurethane lower control arm bushings (rear bushing on front suspension A-arm). There are also poly sway bar bushings, and tire choice makes a big difference in these cars. Finally, some put in stiffer springs and shocks, although this will affect your ride characteristics a lot. I have to admit it's easy to get sucked in to projects on these cars, as they start out good and can be made great. If I had another CSE, I'd do the poly bushings and maybe put in a set of Aero springs/shocks/struts. But I tend to get into it a bit much.
As for options, I know it's semantics, but the only options on those cars were, IIRC, automatic transmission and metallic paint, as well as some dealer-installed accessories like CD changer. All that stuff you see was standard equipment on the CSE. They really came loaded. Enjoy.
