If it takes you 4-5 minutes to pass a semi, you are: (a) being unsafe by staying in his/her blind spot for that long, (b) inconsiderate to those who are driving faster than you, (c) probably messing your car up more than using the turbo because those semis seem to kick up a lot of road debris, thereby chipping your paint and glass, and (d) giving yourself too much time to get worked up about other drivers.
While I agree that if someone comes upon a slower driver using the left lane to pass, they should be patient, if you take 4-5 minutes to pass (as you stated, and further explained), you should be more considerate. There are plenty of drivers who are far too impatient who will never be pleased with other people's driving habits. It's just the way it is.
You say: "wheres my rocket launcher, you want to see something bright ill send a rocket your way show you how bright your lights are."
and: "flick you of lob rockets, bullets, anything to get you to slow down and chill out."
This sounds like maybe two drivers in this situation need to chill out.
Further along you stated: "nothing will work for u seeing you think its law to speed."
Suggesting that people who speed are lawless drivers and should therefore be subjected to your practice of cruising along at a set speed, regardless of how long they have to wait for you to pass that semi, seems a little unreasonable. It seems completely unreasonable and very hypocritical when you yourself are speeding, and have said as much. I'll disregard any argument which suggests that speeding should be punished when it come from someone who is speeding.
To be honest with you, I think your attitude exudes a self-righteous or overly-defensive air.
I too am a big fan of cruise control. I have, however, never had brights flashed at me. If I'm in the fast lane making a pass, I make it a point to do it quickly and safely, preferably without speeding up, but certainly placing a priority on not slowing other traffic in the process. If there isn't a gap large enough to accommodate such a pass, I wait until there is. Maybe driving culture is significantly different where you log your miles than where I am. I try to drive in a manner that minimizes the chances of my driving style being what dictates others'. Why, you might ask? Because I don't prefer it when my driving is dictated by someone else's. In my mind it is not a matter the law, but rather, a matter of respect.
I get a bit frustrated when two cars are traveling the same speed, side-by-side, and holding up traffic. Truth be told, I give them more room until they make up their minds or the wind shifts enough to open the log-jam. Chances are, those drivers are not paying nearly enough attention to their driving since they appear to be oblivious to what effect their driving is having on the people around them. That type of driver (inattentive) is most likely the most dangerous on the road at the moment.
If you give me a good reason, I'll re-think my habits and point of view. I hope this message doesn't come across as being disrespectful. If it does, my apologies, and forget that I said anything.
