A 1930s window is superior to almost any new window due to the old growth wood. I assume you have sash weights. The windows can be removed, restored, reglazed, and improved with spring bronze weatherstripping to seal better than new. Add proper sealing and painting on the frames with a good triple track storm and it is better than new. Some old storms were triple track and some were not. Two pains of glass are two pains of glass. Air infiltration is the enemy and can be nearly eliminated on an old wood window.
You can do the restoration yourself if you are handy.
Vinyl is completely inferior to what your have and at least some of them will likely need changing in the 3-5 years you stay in the house.
Do lots of research and don't fall for the misleading info put out there by the window industry. Your windows are almost 80 years old. Will the new one last half of that? Keep in mind your wood windows are always repairable. A new window is only replaceable.
