isn't that many options. You can take Noel's suggestion using the Merritt Parkway or take what I suggest using I-684, I-84, I-90 and on.
I don't drive through CT that often and I have never got used to the Merritt but those who live in the area seem to like it. It's narrower and has more curves. People who drive on that road tend to know that road well and they drive fast for that kind of road. Also you need to watch out for incoming traffic as the ramps are really short or simply no on ramp. Merging cars have to from zero to 70 in about 30 ft of run so you watch out for merging traffic if you drive on the right lane.
No matter which road you pick, you'll run into slower traffic, be it a mobile home, a rental moving van, or someone like me 8-).
Drive safe and have a good time at the Cape.
